Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, dog-moms, and mother-figures out there! This is one of my favorite pictures of my mom (circa 1970-ish) at Malibu/Santa Monica beach. She’s the one looking super-fly in the red jumper. Although she doesnt remember taking this photo, she tells me that she was about 18-20yrs old and attending LACC while living in Inglewood when this was taken. This cheese from the Franch-Comté region is begging to be baked in its little caddy. The soft cheese is washed in locally produced Savagnin wine which contributes a yeasty, earthy and milky flavor profile. Bake it, dip bread in it, down some white wine with it! . . . 5/8 #milkfarmlunch 1)CHORIZO SALAMI: fried tomato sauce, Mahon, pickled peppers, cilantro, greens and herbed butter on baguette 2)THE HBB 3)MUFFALETTA on focaccia. Tomme d’Estaing from France may be my new favorite cheese. Organic, thermized sheep’s milk cheese lends a subtly sweet, ultra-fatty paste while the natural rind tastes like you just kissed the cave.
