Welcome Milkfarm, a cutely appointed cheese, charcuterie, and sandwich shop smack dab in the middle of Eagle Rock on April 7. With clean white industrial lines and tastful hand-made wood finished furniture, Milkfarm brings a much-needed artisanal concept from Leah Park Fierro, who worked at Silver Lake Cheese Store for six years….

Finally, Leah Fierro made an appearance to do a presentation on the “Artisan Cheese” business that she and her husband are opening on Colorado Boulevard. They are in phase III of construction (drywall) and the contractor will have the space ready by the middle of March or the beginning of April.

Eagle Rock gets a cheesy start to the year via Milkfarm, an artisan cheese shop founded by Leah Park Fierro (Silverlake Cheese Shop) and opening some time inlate February. Currently in construction, the shop takes over a former office building on Colorado Blvd, right in the main drag of Eagle Rock.

Planning a wide selection of charcuterie, cheeses, and other artisanal-based products, Fierro is applying for an ABC license to serve wines and craft beers on site. Finally, Milkfarm will preparecustom cheese plates, sandwiches, and gift baskets.

Eagle Rock as a whole hasn’t been getting quite the development thatHighland Park has gotten over the past year, perhaps due to higher rents in the area, but the proximity to Glendale and Pasadena, as well as the rest of the Eastside, makes it a strategic place to start putting in quality food establishments.
