Kamoizumi Brewery Virtual Tour & Tasting

September 1, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
FREE

Join World Sake (and Milkfarm) for a Virtual Tour and Tasting of Kamoizumi Brewery in JAPAN!

The sake experts of World Sake in America are hosting Kamoizumi Brewery in Japan for FREE educational ZOOM event. Milkfarm will be selling 3 different sakes by Kamoizumi (with optional Milkfarm CHEESE pairing + Tasting Notes) for you to sip and enjoy while participating in this virtual event.

Join us on our next sake adventure—to Hiroshima and the famous brewing town of Saijo. Here we’ll meet the Maegaki family, rice wholesalers who transitioned into sake brewing at the turn of the 20th century. They established Kamoizumi Brewing Co. in 1912 and in 1967 were one of the first breweries to launch junmai sakes in post-war Japan, a focus they have continued to this day. To say Kamoizumi sakes have character is an understatement; brimming with individuality they are bold yet elegant, full-bodied with a distinct taste profile. We will tour and taste with Kamoizumi’s affable president Kazuhiro Maegaki, toji Toshiyuki Shintani, and overseas sales representative Gautier Moysset.

COST: FREE for the ZOOM event. CLICK HERE to sign up!

SAKES: 3 types of Kamoizumi sake are available for optional purchase at Milkfarm. Prices vary per bottle and are limited in supply.

CHEESE PAIRINGS: Optional as well…but why not jazz up your virtual tour?! Prices vary per cheese and are sold by weight. As always, complete tasting notes will accompany each pairing.
1.  Three Dots Shusen Junmai with Der scharfe Maxx cheese AND Truffle Mousse pâté. TWO pairings for this one!
2. Red Maple (like an amaro or sherry!) with Smokey Blue
3. Summer Snow Nigori Ginjo with Old Quebec Cheddar
